A lifetime admirer of Russion actor and director, Konstantin Stanislavski, Peter's just released videotape illustrates the use of the Stanislavski Method in modern theatre, film and TV rehearsals. Nicole Findlay will be talking with the NZ musician Rhian Sheehan* And Nina Marie will review Van Helsing, starring Australian actor, Hugh Jackman.

The federal budget brought down last week contained no surprises in the arts and culture sector.  As mentioned in the news, the Australia Council received a modest increase in funding, also the taxation breaks for big budget overseas film productions were extended to big budget TV productions, and the Australian Broadcasting Authority and the Australian Communications Authority are to be amalgamated.  But there was one winner:  Culture consumers in the bush. Playing Australia received an additional $2M, a 53% boost in based funding to support country touring by our best performing artists*  And Regional Arts Australia received $10.7M over four years to revive the Regional Arts Fund* Vincent O'Donnell asked Ken Llyod secretary of Regional Arts Australia whether the funds were in response to a specific proposal*

Ken Llyod, secretary of Regional Arts Australia and CEO of Country Arts SA*  sound like the bush is the place to be for culture consumers this year.   And regional centre are also on the touring schedule for an Australian initiative, the 15/15 film festival.  Entrants were challenged to make a film of up to 15 min. duration in fifteen hours, and featuring a themed element.  Winning films, and films made in and about the locale of each screening will be on the program as it tours regional Australia, Indonesia and Europe. NICOLE FINDLAY caught up with Rhian Sheehan after the launch of tiny blue biosphere*and she begins by asking him how he would best describe the music he produces.
