Unpopular Culture. Our guest is Kathryn Fox, a GP turned author whose first novel, Malicious Intent, is getting a deal of attention* and we meet two musicians who have been working with young people of the Western Desert region, Kintore and Papunya, making music and trying to head-off petrol sniffing and other substance abuse.  And Nina Marie will review Strange Bedfellows, staring Michael Caton and Paul Hogan.

The CD Western Desert Mob was released late last year...It's produced by the Melbourne activist collective, Labrats, also known as Comabat Wombat and Sonic Boom.  They set off into the Western Desert regions in a bus that ran on vegie oil... and along the way stumbled across not only some amazing talent... but lots of stories of heartache and hardship... Nicole Findlay spoke with producers Izzy Brown and Monkey Marc...
