Skylab was the predecessor to NASA's orbiting space station. The world knew that the satellite was going to fall to earth* but no one knew exactly where. Finally as it plummeted to earth in 1979, it left debris along a 1500 km trail across south west Western Australia. Now a new art exhibition documents the human and technical narrative of the end of Skylab. JESS MYLES spoke with DAVID CARSON* originator and co-ordinator of the project. It is called the Creative Commons and takes on the idea of the old agricultural commons, lands available to a whole village to grow crops and so benefit.
