On the program this week* A report just published by the CPSU confirms that the Arts broadcasting performance of the ABC has plummeted over the past ten years*and yet another new literary magazine begins publication, this time in Melbourne. Our guest is Sue Giles, the artistic director of Polyglot Puppets, a diversified puppetry company formed in 1978, and opening a new show that features a lethal camera and a three metre high frock. We'll also hear from actor Geoffery Rush speaking at the announcement of this year's Sidney Myer Performing Arts Awards* And Nina Marie will review Australian film Love's Brother. A new report, funded by the Community and Public Sector Union, has confirmed just that... as well as identifying missed opportunities to reach younger audiences through newer art forms* and noted that there is less original performance on the ABC than before. The awards were presented by actor Geoffery Rush, and he reflected on how vital the receipt of a Sidney Myer Performing Arts Award had been to his career more than ten years ago* but first, he remarked that moving the ceremony from the garden to the ballroom of the Myer home because of rain, had the making of a scene from CLUDO*.
