NEWS: (approx. 4.00) Ends approx. 5.20 Labor's Senator Kate Lundy introduced a private member's bill into Parliament last week, a bill that seeks to introduce a Resale Royalty of 5 percent on the sales in the secondary art market?Such a resale royalty was recommended by the Myer Inquiry into the visual arts and crafts last year and broadly accepted by the government. However, the government has attacked Senator Lundy, accusing her of being opportunistic and na*ve. But what is a resale royalty? how does it work?
