Our guest this week is New Zealand film producer and academic, Roger Horrocks. You may recall that we heard from his wife Shirley Horrocks, an eminent documentary film maker on an earlier program. Roger will be discussing the state of the New Zealand cinema and television industries. The Town Hall stands high on the skyline and has been extensively renovated. Its become the newest suburban venue for Melbourne・s Fringe Festival. The programming is so diverse its almost a fringe on a fringe festival. While visiting Auckland, I also took the opportunity to talk with her husband, Roger Horrocks. Roger was the founding head of the Dept. of Film Television and Media Studies at the Univ. of Auckland and served as deputy head of New Zealand-on-Air, the country・s public broadcaster. I caught up with the poets, Petra White and Angela Stretch in Sydney.
