Some sound from Circus Oz* and Circus Oz is back with its winter season this month.

The Visiting International Publishers program has just concluded, as one of the feature events at the Sydney Writers Festival.  It is largely financed by the Australia Council, so we asked Sandra Bender, Director of Market Development in the Community Partnerships and Market Development Division of the Australia council for the Arts about the program, first commenting that it had been around for some time..

The Australian Centre for the Moving has established a Saturday afternoon showcase of Australian cinema*  I asked Richard Sowada, Head of Film Programs at ACMI, to explain what the program offered that normal cinema exhibition did not*

Vocalist Atlanta Coogan and the Aint Misbehavin・ trio and earlier, As Time Goes By. The Victorian Tapestry Workshop spends most of its time producing tapestries on commission, and its works may be found in public buildings and Australian embassies in many parts of the world.  An exhibition of tapestries from the workshop titled From here to Eternity opens at the S H Ervin Gallery, Sydney on 29 June so I spoke to the curator of the show and director of the VTW, Susie Shears*

Susie Shears of the VTW.  And thee exhibition is on at the S H Ervin Gallery, Sydney, until 12 August 2007. It then goes to the Benalla Art Gallery*  theHamilton Art Gallery*  Castlemaine Art Gallery thence to the Anne + Gordon Samstag Museum of Art, University of South Australia, Adelaide where it opens on 31 October 2008.  Next week we meet we revisit the interview withRoy Smiles, the author of Ying Tong,  A Walk with the Goons.  After a successful season in Sydney it opens in Melbourne this month*
