Our guest is Katherine Howell, who set her first published novel in the high tension world of the emergency service workers, a world where she has spent fifteen years. It has just held its annual conference, this year in Canberra. Last week, it was revealed that his grave, thought to be in the grounds of Melbourne・s Pentridge prison, now becoming ironically enough an up-market housing estate, could not be found. When the story was reported on television, it was partly illustrated with footage of a 1906 feature film, the Story of the Kelly Gang. The previous week, a box set of a DVD of the reconstructed footage of that 1906 film and a scholarly essay on the topic were launched by the National Film and Sound Archive.
