Memento Australia is a program, now in its eight year, to boost the artistic quality and cultural relevance of mementos in the Australian tourism trade. And that was a medley of war songs played on gumleaf by Herb Pattern, the runner-up on TV・s Australia・s Got Talent.  And if the strained performance of the winner, 12 year old Bonnie Anderson, is anything to go by, then talent in Australia is in short supply.

National Design Centre opened its first exhibition in late 2005 and the guest of honour was a designer whose work is widely seen worldwide on the MAMBO label... and epitomises youthful rebellion and an outdoor life style.  His name is Reg Mombassa and there was a great documentary about him on SBS recently* so we thought to revisit our interview with him*
