This week* The arts and cultural program that accompanies the FINA world swimming championships is announced*  the minister for the arts in the Northern Terriotry denounces souvenir shops for selling Aboriginal art that is work of "fakers, forgers and fraudster¡¨* and we look at an exhibition in tribute to Australia¡¦s war correspondence of World War II.

Our guest is Bruce Gladwin, the Artistic director of the Back-to-Back Theatre Company, and the director of ¡¥SMALL METAL OBJECT, a play that won the Age Critics Award and the Helpman award fro Best New Work in 2005.  They have been on the road with seasons in Sydney and Perth and are opening this week in Brisbane.

Victorian Minister for the Arts Lynne Kosky launching the Arts and Cultural program of the FINA world swimming championships.  They run from 17 March to 1 April. On Feb. 20th, the NT Minister for Arts and Museums, Marion Scrymgour said that most souvenir shops in Australia, selling Aboriginal art, are selling the work of "fakers, forgers and fraudster¡¨.  She was addressing the Senate Inquiry into Australia's Indigenous visual arts and craft sector which was conducting hearings in Darwin. We asked Minister Scrymgour to elaborate on that remark*

There is an exhibition at the Shrine of Remembrance in Melbourne to honour the work of Australia¡¦s war correspondents of World War II.  It is curated by author and journalist Garrie Hutchinson, and inspired by his book, EYEWITNESS: Australians write from the frontline.  I met Garrie at the exhibition and first asked why it was mid-1940 when they were appointed when the war started in September 1939*
