new art/business degree with a diffrence

Art, business and education recently come together in the Victoria University of Technology, as a Bachelor of Business in Music Management will be introduced from 1998 by the university.

The degree, initated by the Government's development of training programs to support the Australian music industry, is set up to produce professionals in the areas of artist management, venue management, touring management, retailing and merchanising.

Though it is a sign of the further professionalisation in the music industry, Theo Pappadopolous from VUT sees it as a natural progression in the on-going developments of the industry. He also told Vincent O'Donnell about the entry qualifications for the course.
