Pascall Prize winner Adrian Martin

In the early days he was something of an enfant terrible. But popular film and cultural commentator Adrian Martin has just won the 1997 Pascall Prize, Australia's only major award for critical writing.

As his film reviews are distictive with the narrative elements, Adrian believes films inspire some thoughts, and as a film critic his job is to find those thoughts and write up "stories" about his encounters to the films.

Adrian talks to Vincent O'Donnell and Nicole Foote about his principals of writing film reviews. He also provides some ideas about his profession.
