museums contemporary collaborative technology[interview, John Leuthart - 6 minutes 14 seconds]An international conference held in Auckland at the beginning of November stirred up a lot of interest in Australia. 'Engaging Practices', looked to challenge traditional practices and provide a chance for speakers to give examples of new collaborations being forged between artists and museums. With museums and galleries constantly looking to better present their collections many are collaborating with artists and using new media technologies to involve audiences more inter-actively. The first of its kind in New Zealand, the Engaging Practices conference included museum workers, artists, designers, film-makers, commentators and others interested in contemporary culture. Vincent O'Donnell speaks with, Engaging Practices' director John Leuthart.
