Julie Marlow: from film distributing to film producing

[interview, Julie Marlow - 13 minutes 36 seconds]

In Wentworth, far south-west of New South Wales, a new feature film is being made. "Hurrah", based on Tasmanian writer David Owen's "Bitter Ends", is a drama evolving around two characters and the landscape. It is being created by a film crew of 30 people, a reasonable production scale for Australian feature films.

On the 11th Day of the schedule, Vincent O'Donnell went to the location to find out the shooting progress, the production's combat with the environment in Wentworth. He talked to the film's first-time producer Julie Marlow about her way from helping other people's films to sell in London to producing her own for sale in Australia, and the challenges of being a first-timer in the biggest role besides the director.

Julie also revealed how the crew members of "Hurrah" were selected, the bizarre story behind selecting Owen's short story for the adaptation of the film's screenplay, and what other film projects she is going to work on.
