Scar: a realistic slice of dark side of youth

[interview, Samantha Lovejoy - 4 minutes 31 seconds]

Brisbane's La Boite theatre is on stage with a new production "Scar", a controversial play dealing with young people's lives in the nineties that features a self imposed R rating.

Fiona Parker talked to one of the actors Samantha Lovejoy to find out more about the "generation-X" type play with a theme of youth suicide. They also discussed if "in-your-face" plays such as "Scar" or "Trainspotting: the play" (also currently playing in Australia) with disturbing scenes are attracting new audiences out of curiosity, and what is the future of such a genre.

"Scar" is playing at La Boite theatre in Brisbane until 20th September.
