brand new National Academy for brand new music talents

[interview, Trevor Green - 4 minutes 6 seconds]

Young people in Australia are having better opportunities to master their musical instrumental talents. Established in 1995, the prevalent Australian National Academy of Music has recently undergone an official re-launch with an augural premise. Though focusing on classical music, there are also places in the Academy for other twentieth century ethnic music, like jazz and electronic. According to the director of the newly-launched Academy Trevor Green, the Academy is "trying to get the balance right" between Australian students and talents overseas.

To find out about the new Academy and how the talents are selected, Vincent O'Donnell spoke to Trevor on the phone.
