pay-tv brings Australian music & culture to Ballarat[interview -7 minutes 15 seconds]Big Back Yard is a radio series that boasts an estimated audience of 500 million in more than 100 countries. Funded by the Australia Council BBY has been broadcasting Australasian music and culture for almost 10 years. Now, Big Back Yard is to become a television program broadcast on pay-TV in Ballarat. Beginning in August it will screen a selection of Australian music clips and animation from young Australians working in computer graphics, animation and film. Current programming ignores a lot of important Australian independent music. Big Back Yard Television, BBY-TV, aims to address this. BBY-TV will be broadcast in Ballarat on Northgate Communications pay-TV services. Northgate is an American company whose access to Australian media markets has been made possible by recent changes in telecommunications law. artsalive | current | a week ago | two weeks | three weeks | email
