W.A. Performing Arts Scholarship

Mining companies are either the backbone of the nation or the enemy of sustainable development, depending on your politics.

Certainly, few have been prominent as corporate sponsors of the arts, though many have valuable collections of paintings hanging in their spacious board rooms.

But in Western Australia, one major mining company has revealed its cultural side and committed itself to a three years, $60,000 sponsorship of a scholarship program for Indigenous artists and performers, at the WA Academy of Performing Arts.
