  • Meetings are held at Manchester Unity Hall, 8 Main Street, Blackburn, Vic, 3130. Melways 47 K10. Third Friday of the month. February – November - 8pm.
  • Guest speakers on a range of interesting topics (see future events)
  • News and information (see newsletter)
  • Sales of low priced native plants
  • Specimen table - discussion of plants grown by members
  • Book sales (discounted)
  • Access to newsletters from plant study groups
  • Supper and informal 'chat time'
  • Door prizes
  • Entry donation $2.00
  • Typical topics – Individual plant groups e.g. eremophila, fungi, lizards photo presentations, low water usage plants

GARDEN VISITS

  • Monthly visits to gardens featuring Australian native plants (and sometimes including exotics)
  • Majority of visits to private gardens, occasionally public gardens
  • Some visits to private gardens participating in the Open Garden Scheme
  • Recent visits have included trips to large and small private gardens in Maroondah, Manningham and Whitehorse regions and further afield
  • Visits to public gardens such as Royal Botanic Gardens Cranbourne and Melbourne, Maranoa Gardens Balwyn.
  • Local visits are usually scheduled for afternoons - 2 pm to 4 pm on the Sunday after the Friday evening meeting
  • Gardens further afield may be an all day outing - perhaps a bus trip
  • Afternoon tea and friendly social interactions
  • All welcome - a relaxing way to increase your knowledge of Australian native plants
