Author - Colin Finkemeyer
This book tells 109 short stories on the light-hearted side of the lives of POWs. It was written in response to today's younger generation who are the same age as we were when we enlisted. It looks at the 'skullduggery' that we got up to as young soldiers in the Army and as POWs of the Japanese.
The stories are told in the context in which they happened and so give an understanding of what life was like at those times. The stories emphasise the Australian characteristics - sense of humour, mateship, courage, ingenuity and audacity. Qualities, which lie dormant in the young of today, but emerge when faced with adversity.
