The site provides information about the 4th Anti-Tank Regiment of the Royal Australian Artillery which was raised in Victoria 1940. Part of the unit was dispatched to fight in the Malayan peninsular. With the fall of Singapore many of the 4th Anti-Tankers saw out the rest of the war as POWs to the Japanese. One battery remained in Australia to serve in defense of Darwin, and then in camps in New South Wales. A number of books have been written around the experiences of members of the 4th Anti-Tank Regiment. The books and the site attempt to record important events of Australia’s history for posterity, for the youth of today.
