Program for 2021

Meetings are held on the first Sunday of every even month at 2pm at Anglesea's History House, 5a McMillan St (Entrance 4, Melway 514:E7). Outings are held during the week on the odd months. Highlighted dates on future outings indicate changes from normal. Visitors are very welcome. Please check back for any program changes. No activities on Code Red or Extreme fire danger days in Central region.

During COVID restrictions meetings are being held at the venue specified for each below.

Sun 7 Feb 2pm Meeting Eric Messer: The night the Inverlochy was wrecked.
Venue: At the Great Ocean Road Resort, 105 Great Ocean Road, Anglesea.
Wed 3 Mar 9:30am Outing Gold Ghost Town - Steiglitz, also visiting Maud & Meredith. Combined outing with Family History Group. Leaves History House at 9:30am returning at 4pm. Cost $25, includes transport, morning tea, picnic lunch, information program and entries, any profits to our Building Fund. Bookings essential: 0448 526 311 or 0438 070 560.
Sun 11 Apr 2pm Meeting Peter Cecil: Keith Cecil - his life and his interest in photography and local history.
Venue: At the Anglesea Hotel, back meeting room.
Sun 18 Apr 2pm Special Loveridge Lookout Victorian Heritage plaque and restored Inverlochy lifebuoy unveiling by Mayor Libby Stapleton. Afterwards at History House, 5 McMillan St, Anglesea.
Tue 4 May 9:00am Outing Camperdown, hosted by the Camperdown Historical Society. Leaves History House at 9am. Cost $20 incl travel, morning tea and entries; lunch at own cost at hotel. Thu 15 Jul 11am Outing Mid-Winter Meet, together with the Family History Group. Venue: Anglesea Hotel Function Room. Light lunch and entertainment by the First Fleet Fellowship Victoria. Costume presentations of First Fleeters & their descendants. Cost $20 incl lunch, payable on the day. Friends & relatives welcome!

Dinner and presentation by Fred Cahir author of My Country All Gone, the White Men Have Stolen It: the invasion of Wadawurrung Country, 1800-1870. Cost is $50 including dinner. Tue 23 Nov 8:30am Outing Outing to Cobden to visit the collection of horse drawn vehicles, Cobden Museum, history of dairying display, and a miniature train trip through the bush. Morning Tea at Heytesbury House. Barbecue lunch. Cost $40, includes all entries, transport, morning tea and lunch.
