![]() The Emperor Napoleon Needs You! Would
you answer yes to one or more of the following questions?
Perhaps
our historical re-enactment group could be the outlet you’re looking for?
All of our members have found the experience both rewarding
and a vastly different challenge compared with daily life. Many family
members also choose to take part, with the Ladies and Children playing
a vital role in bringing the era to life (including, of course, looting
the odd redcoat along the way!). There is a wide variety of different
roles that a re-enactor can enjoy beside the Fusilier; Musicians, Doctors,
Stretcher Bearers, a Vivandiere (you might like to Google that one!) and
many other roles which your imagination and knowledge of history can bring
to life! Don’t worry, although all of the orders are given in French
you don’t need a good understanding to join. It won’t take long before
you’re firing volleys with the best of us much to the consternation of
our foes. You really don’t see why a woman can’t be a Fusilier and take
part in the odd battle recreation? Well
we don’t see why either; anyone can take part in whatever role they prefer.
(Of course the wearing of make up isn’t advised when in the line!) When
we take part in weekend events, the battles are soon forgotten. All the
many groups get together around the camp fire for a bit of good cheer
and a camp fire yarn or two. Of course there is often the odd treat cooking
in the coals for later on. So perhaps we’ll see you there, you and your family will be
more than welcome. For Contacts: Please have look at our website at http://oz21eme.no-ip.org:1975/ and You can contact our current President Peter Norman: mnorman36@aapt.net.au If you are in NSW you might like to contact Caporal Gavin Jones:
