Battle of Trafalgar.
Each year the Victorian country town of Trafalgar conducts a fair to celebrate the Battle after which the town is named. The ANA were invited to participate in festivities with a mock (ground) battle as the main attraction. Members of the 21st eme, the 42nd RHR and the 95th Rifles joined the lengthy street parade, then conducted drill and march displays, culminating in the main battle event.

Hosted by the North Eastern Muzzleloaders Club at their their Taminick rifle range, this is a major event for military re-enactors. Program includes a Most Authentic Camp competition, various shooting competitions, a keenly contested Drill competition, and a formal Military dinner. Most ANA members endeavour to attend this encampment. Time was set aside for an informal general meeting of those interested in formally establishing the ANA.

Aug.25th "Battle of Ferrol" commemorative formal dinner function at Victoria Barracks, Melbourne.
A most successful and delightful evening function enjoyed by some 75 people. Hosted by the 95th Rifles and the 42nd RHR and with esteemed Frenchmen of the 21st eme, plus partners, friends and guests. Special guests included ladies from the Costumers Guild and the Jane Austin Society. Regency dancing after the meal proved a highlight, particularly enjoyed by all the ladies.
Aug.19th An ANA drill day held at Victoria Barracks, Melbourne.
Drill training day organised by the 42nd RHR, in conjunction with the 21st eme and the 95th Rifles. A little skirmishing on the Barracks parade grounds was added to the program, perfecting a successful combined drill session.

July 28th-29th

Napoleonic Exhibition.
Melbourne usually hosts three major arms fairs each year. At this year's July Arms Fair, the ANA were allocated a large area in the Royal Showgrounds pavilion to set up a Napoleonic exhibition. Members of the 42nd RHR, the 21eme & the 95th Rifles amassed six full tables of display items. Included amongst the original Napoleonic items were five Brown Bess muskets, a Baker rifle, a Charleville musket, a flintlock grenade throwing carbine, a number of sea service pistols and cavalry swords, a 12lb carronade with a range of shot & grapeshot ammunition. Also on display we had a full authentic surgical kit, reproduction Cohorn mortars, a swivel gun, side arms, small arms & many other items of equipment. The 42nd RHR and the 95th took several opportunities to perform both static and marching drill, whilst the music of the 42nd's pipers received much due attention as always.
