Anne Norman trained on flute at the Conservatorium of Music, Melbourne University, later taking up the shakuhachi in Japan where she studied three lineages of shakuhachi music under three teachers (Nakamura Shindo, Tajima Tadashi & Yamaguchi Goro), including a two year scholarship at the Tokyo University of the Arts. Anne has performed in major festivals & regional centres throughout Australia. Anne has also performed in numerous concerts in Japan, and in 1999 she toured with the ensemble 'Jouissance' to Europe.
