CLUB SYNOPSIS
The Rotary Club of Altona City (RCAC) was chartered on March, 26th, 1987.
Its sponsor club was the Rotary Club of Altona. We still have 9 active charter members.
It is one of 70 clubs within District 9800 of Rotary International.
District 9800 encompasses the Melbourne CBD, surrounding and bayside suburbs and country
area that stretches up through Bendigo as far as Echuca Moama on the Murray River in northern Victoria.
Within the District RCAC is one of 6 clunbs which belong to the Port Phillip Cluster
The Club conducts a weekly Monday night dinner meeting which involves fellowship, committee updates and
a guest speaker from the Rotary family of projects or the broader community.
As well as our regular meetings, RCAC participates in fundraising events such as an annual Debutante Ball
and Charity Golf Day. It holds several other social, fundraising and service activities including
participation in Rotary District programs.
The funds raised by the club are disbursed through various streams such as youth, health, education, community and social needs both locally and internationally, and to the Rotary International Foundation.
Currently we have over 30 members ranging from young to older and both men and women with
a diverse range of business and professional backgrounds.
We are constantly looking for new members to become part of our vibrant Rotary Club.
