Those wishing to visit the Mechanic's Institute only at Flagstaff Hill (for Research and other associated activities) do not have to pay normal, full entry fees to the facility. Make your intentions known at Reception. If you possess suitable identification linking you with the AIGS or other Genealogical Group then please present it at this time. You will then be issued with some form of visible identification (still to be finalised) so that Staff can monitor your movements within Flagstaff Hill. Under these circumstances, you need only pay a Researcher entry fee of $2.00.
The library is staffed by members of the Group who participate in a volunteer roster.
Contact the reception desk at Flagstaff Hill Maritime Museum on 1800 556 111. Museum staff can advise when the library will be open to the public. Or, you can call the Mechanics Institute (where Warrnambool Family History Group Inc. is located) direct on (03) 5561 0283 where you can talk to someone from the Group or leave a message on the answering machine.

The Reference Library also contains a major collection of maritime resource material belonging to the Museum that may be accessed whilst in the library.
Microfiche readers and a microfilm reader are available (we use the ScanPro2000, so you can print out your results) for public use.
A number of computers are also available to aid research, with an ever growing collection of CDROM's containing family history databases from Australia and around the world also available for research. In the near future, online access to the Web will also be provided thus making available many more avenues for research.FEES
