(2004/02/24) Melbourne Microfest 2004 "Easterfest"

From choral-announce

EasterFest 2004 will let you capture those last wonderful moments of Perth IV (just one more time!) at the official post-PIV party. It will also give you a taste of things to come when Melbourne IV arrives in 2005; and celebrates MUCS' 65th, MonUCS' 42nd (the answer!) and ROCS' 5th anniversaries. Finally, it also heralds the fact that, as yet, no interstellar bypasses have been announced for Melbourne!

So dust off your books of Vogon poetry, bring some money for Pan-Galactic Gargleblasters and Babel fish, rummage around for that dressing gown, and make a reservation for The Restaurant At The End Of The Universe! Join us in Melbourne for Life, the uMIVerse and Everything - EasterFest 2004.

This festival will feature Melbourne's unique tradition of the "Soprano Aria" (for tenors and basses only!), a fabulous formal Dinner (frock up!), a soirée, and other fun events designed to celebrate all things choral, festive, and Douglas Adams-y!

I Want To Come Along! What Do I Do Now?

Get excited about EasterFest, and tell all of your friends to come along too!

The closing date for registrations and merchandise orders is 19 March 2004. Registrations after this date will incur a late fee. Merchandise orders can still be taken after this date, however the cost of items will be higher (because we have to order a smaller run of goods), and there is no guarantee your order can be fulfilled.

Go to http://www.miv.aicsa.org.au/microfest/microfest.php or http://www.miv.aicsa.org.au/registration/registration.php and download the Registration form.

Thanks all, and hope to see you at Microfest 2004 "Easterfest"

(2004/02/23) PIV Is Officially Over

From choral-announce

Hello Everyone in the AICSA world.

Well PIV 2004 is over and we can continue on with our regular lives with great memories of what I hope you all remember as a great two weeks. To start with, a bit of bad news... thanks to someone being nosey with my phone when it was left for 5 mins, the cd and photo orders at the BBQ letters have been deleted. The person, a non chorister, has been thwapped around the earlobes a couple of times and is feeling very bad. So, could those of you who ordered Photos or Cds at the BBQ please email your details to me. I remember who most of you are (!), so please do not try to take advantage of the situation if you really haven't ordered one.

Now, on to more pleasant things. We have just received the reviews of the concert and they are FANTASTIC. I will post them as a separate message later in the day. Both concerts were a success, people seemed (from my observations) to be having a wonderful time at the parties, concerts and social events, and the overall vibe of the festival was just fantastic. I realise that this a bit of a ramble, and please read the next couple of editions of ERATO for more detailed and coherent reports, but I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved in PIV. My committee were excellent, the musical and support staff were amazing - but that is not the most important thing... It is my belief that it is the participants in the IV that make it what it is, so thank you everyone for making PIV a very special festival overall, and a particularly special one for me. Lets hope that the memories and friendships of this festival, and others like it, stay with us for a very long time.

Thanks again everyone, and look out for more emails regarding concert reviews etc.

See you in Melbourne in 2005

Yours Sincerely,
Joel Mendelson
