2/5 FIELD REGIMENT ASSOCIATION
7th DIVISION . 2nd A.I.F
1940 / 1946

BRIEF HISTORY===

The 2/5 Field Regiment was part of the 18th brigade,7th division,2nd A.I.F {Australian Imperial force}And was formed at Ingleburn N.S.W.on Anzac Day 25/April/1940 and was commissioned on that day under the command of Leut/colonel Clive Ingate. The Regiment left Australia for over seas duty in october 1940 and saw Action in Egypt, Seria, New Guinea, and Borneo, The Regiment was disbanded On 26/Febuary/1946.It is noted that, SIR RODEN CUTLER, VC.AK.KCMG.KVO.CBF.St’J. also SIR WILLIAM HALL, KBE.DSO.ED. and That elusive character HARRY PECK were all members of the 2/5 Field Regiment.You might ask “who is “Harry Peck”?, He was a Gunner in the Regiment for the Entire existence of the unit, but in fact, NEVER EXISTED strange but true, And the story of Harry Peck is well documented.

As the original members slowly join their fallen comrades, the ranks that are left behind get thinner and thinner.On Anzac Day 25/april/1999, due to dwindling numbers and health conditions Of the members, the Victorian Branch of the Association was turned over to our younger generation to carry on the tradition of the Regiment.

The President, Committee, and Members of the VICTORIAN BRANCH are now asking for new members to join this famous 2/5 Field Regiment Association to again fill our ranks. If you are a decendent of a serving member of the Regiment, or a serving  member of the Armed Forces and over the age of 18 years you are eligible To become a member.
