Through Google Maps, global coordinates have been established for many of the tanks and silos that we know to be extant. In most cases it is possible to see the historic structure by manipulating "street view".

A number of on-ground tanks were built by SARC, including two for the Wallaroo and Moonta Mining and Smelting Co Ltd which consisted of r.c. walls and clay floors. (The record for these tanks ceases with winning of the contract in 1914).
