John Monash: Engineering enterprise prior to WW1.

Upper Coliban Reservoir Spillway Bridge.

There are three arches. They are unusually tall compared with the firm's other Monier arches, in order to provide sufficient waterway. The very low piers are hardly noticeable above the bed of the spillway. The spandrels are of brick, with vertical expansion joints above each pier. Modern steel railings and a deep guard rail are very prominent in this view.
