Home Page - NSW
- Maintained by Graeme Challinor. A particularly good example of how
a small community can have regional representation on the Web, and illustrate
it's history effectivelly. Contains historic cameos of the town, and reference
maps and inscription transcripts for three cemeteries in Gundaroo NSW (recommended
as an example Web page for regional genealogy).
Records Office - VIC
- Maintained by the Australian Archives (Commonwealth Government archives),
the archives of State and Territory governments, and others such as university
archives. Australian Archives database access.
- Maintained by the Australian Archives of Victoria and is an introduction
to the holdings of genealogical records in the Australian Archives, including:
Post WWII migrant selection documents; Service dossiers of the War in South
Africa 1901-1902; Passenger lists from 1924; Naturalisation records from
1903; Microfilmed material (including the War in South Africa 1899-1903);
War records (including migrant interviews etc.); and, Aboriginal and Torres
Strait Islander records.

This site links to a page devoted to the packet clipper ship, Queen
Of The Colonies. In the 1860s this renowned Black Ball Line vessel
brought many hundreds of immigrants from England to Queensland on behalf
of the Queensland Government. Laid down in Boston as the Wizard
in 1852, the ship made several record passages along the famous tea routes.
Besides a history of the Queen Of The Colonies, the site details
regulations covering intending migrants, a transcript of a passenger ticket,
prices, press coverage, customs, and much more.
Historical Society of Australia
- Maintained by Anthony Staunton, Federal Secretary Military Historical
Society of Australia, Canberra. Contains archived (currently 1995) synopsis
of articles, both current and historical, and selected full articles (usually
of genealogical interest), from 'Sabretache', the quarterly journal of
First Queensland (Moreton) Regiment
- Maintained by "The Adjutant",
Anthony Cryan, and contains a wealth of reference material for Queensland
living military history research and the Australasian Register of Living
History Organisations Project (ARLHO), also some handy URL links for similar
groups around the world.
- Maintained by Brian Mavrogeorge and contains a page titled 'Non
US Data' which includes data for NZL and AUS (among others). The page
has downloadable zip files of various research material, such as: Collections
of name lists; Australasian ships; Marriage Witnesses; Convicts to Australia
1788-1791; NSW Burial register - Portland; VIC Probates circ.1890; VIC
Public Service index 1884; various one-name histories; School, Club, and
Occupation name lists etc.
- Maintained by the Anglican Cathedral of Ely, England, this page has
a calendar calculator designed to calculate the date of Easter in any year
since the first Easter. Output for a full year is presented, and may be
