A curtain draped over my mind
Flea-bitten
Hanging by a tentative thread
It fell and I laughed
Brushing the cobwebs from the corner of the room
Silence reigned
Broken only by a mocking cry in the distance

Fun and laughter struggled forward
Shaking the hand of the devil
Putting a smile on his fence
