The Rain

One minute the sun shines in the garden
I whistled and played with Sarah
Crash
The heavens opened and Noah’s flood came down
Sarah and I looked at each other, smiled and stared upwards
Throwing our hands to the sky letting the rain wash off the grime
We danced a jig barefoot in the wet grass
Clasping hands as we whirled round and round
Faster and faster
Feeling clean and good
Wishing the rain would come down harder.
