New Year

New Year day dawned
Out with the old, in with the new
Man sporting grey beard booted out by the eager baby
Bye bye Grandad
See ya in a year

Old father time for ’94
Clambered up the steps to heaven
Took a right past St Peters Gate
Entered a restricted zone
Full of similar looking ancients
Sporting grey beards and walking with the aid of crooked sticks

Hello nineteen ninety four they crowed
Making a spot for him next to ’93
Sit here old chap
Make yourself at home
Let’s have a good laugh and see what messes your baby ’95 makes
He’ll soon be with us.
