The Koala and the Giraffe
A koala astride an Ostrich
Jumping from the head
Landing on the outstretched neck of a giraffe
Munching happily on the tallest branches
‘Give us a leg up’ said the Koala
‘Sure mate’ replied the giraffe smiling
Lowering his neck to a lesser gradient
Allowing Koala to clamber onto his head
‘Those leaves taste good’ asked the Koala
‘The best mate. Beautiful’ replied the Giraffe
‘Only I’ve come over from Australia
A huge island down south and I’m as hungry as a pack of wolves’ explained Koala
‘Nice to meet you’ said the Giraffe
‘You look hungry, Try these’
With that she lifted her head, Koala and all
Up to the branches with the leaves
The Koala climbed onto the branch
Snuggled around and began chewing
‘You’re right, these are lovely. Thanks’
‘No worries mate’ said the Giraffe
‘One day, I’ll come and visit you in Oz’
‘Too right’ said the Koala eagerly
‘But are you sure you’ve not been there already?’
With a glint in his eye
And a smile on his lips
The Giraffe winked, ambled off and Began circling on the next tree
Strange thought the Koala
