Who are you Kidding

No problems at all
An ancient cry mirrored today
No problems at all if I had money to finish it off
The thought
Conviction
If I had money everything would be okay
Struggling to pay the mortgage, bring up the kids, buy a new car
If I had the money I could relax, pay off all these things and be happy
So we look up to the rich
Envious, wanting a part of it too
Focusing on money and riches, entering the lottery
The golden rainbow where happiness will be found
Sadly life does not work that way
Look at the rich now
Do they look happy?
No
It will be different with us, we don’t want millions, just enough to be comfortable
We know what’s its like to have nowt
How many times has this cried out
The comfortable you speak off does not exist
There is always something new to buy
Something new to lust after
You will be never satisfied, you, your partner, family and children
Either envious or wanting more
Friends will disappear
Hating you for your good fortune
Of course they will say ‘well done’ and all that
All the time cursing you inside for being lucky bastards.
It can never be the same again
No more cosy nights out together.
The tensions, envy and yes hatred will be a growing rancour,
You move but to where
You know no one and no one cares about your money
They all have plenty.
No friends, a new place, and what will you do
No jobs
Both man and wife have given up jobs,
Why work?
To do what?
Sit around on your arse all day watching telly
So you are bored shitless, no friends, people just wanting to meet you for a handout
Looking good
Thought not
In that situation drink, drugs and spending seem ways out of the misery
You can see the same in the stories all the time of people come into quick wealth.
Happiness it will not bring
Misery and even death are much more likely.
I know you say you only want a bit but think about it
Who are you kidding??
