Drinking the Guiness of life
Out at lunch and a pop to the pub
Schooner of Guinness please
Watching it sitting under the tap as the creamy head develops
Clouds dissipate leaving a thick black body and a juicy white head
Shame to dip the lips in but I do anyway
Taste hits my throat like a ten pound jackhammer
Flavour unlike these piss cold Aussie beers which taste like shit
I scroll over to a deserted table, they all are
Plonk myself down and stare around the bar.
No one much in.
Peer out the window at the passing trade of flesh
Fat and thin, Chinese and anglo
All kinds
Wonder what is going on in all these minds
Thinking of what, worries about what.
They are me though
I bow down to them for they are Buddhas.
We all are
You reading this and me
Rejoice and pray
Oh Buddha who is me, show yourself
Cut through my ignorance so I may see the truth all around
