Do You

Part Two

Dredd

Managed to buy a copy featuring the old man himself
Old Stoneyface
Judge Dredd
Joe Dredd
JD
Always hitting where it hurts
Nasty old bastard
But I love him

Flop

Floppy, Uni and Wanda
The menagerie are out in the back garden
Two cats and a huge black rabbit more than a match for either cat
Out of its cage it tracks the cats, not the other way around
Who, miserable buggers, hop the fence and run away
Leaving poor Flop on his own to eat up all the plants
Nothing left
Trish is mad
Shoo, shoo to no avail
Flop is too big and nasty for us also
So out comes the hard broom…

Our Two Cats

Uni the black cat from the cats home
Little runt now grown into a fat little sod
Wanda, the haughty one
Given to us by a friend of Trish
Beautiful cat
Speckled brown and white shaded body
Keeps herself to herself
First in the house and none to happy with interlopers
When we brought home Uni, a small bundle of black
With an auburn streak
Wanda, bigger, meaner, used to chase and harry the little kitten
Grown up they have formed a great friendship
Neither is what you would call a large cat
Frankly we do not see much of them anymore
We have never let them stay indoors but kicked them out as soon as darkness fell
To do what cats do
Take part in the dawn chorus

At the back of us lives an old lady, Jean
Her husband, Malboro (like the cigarettes), died
I was in the UK at the time
Marlboro used to feed the cats and now with the old lady being alone
She, too, feeds them.
This is fine as long as we know
Jean invites the cats over to keep her company now she is alone
Since I have returned from the UK the cats have been
Responding to my whistles
Clambering over the fence at the mere whiff of food
It is great to see them again after my time out of the country
Though they run scared of Sarah our 22 month old daughter
She does play rough
Chasing them around
Pinching and pulling their hair
I hate to think what they will do when we get Sarah a little puppy.

Just what I need

I hate that
Create something and not to save it
Gone in an instance after spending hours, days, months doing
Can be a killer
Goes up in spoke
Or hammer
Or with the flick of a keyboard
Did it by accident just now
Wiped all the work I had done tonight
Luckily not a lot and with enough information we could have tracked down
Offices, places of work, home abode
Just so we can contact you if the parcels arrive from India
I have sunk some more Guinness
Irelands pride and joy for breakfast, lunch and dinner
Large pot of Guinness or pour it in here
Special Pot given to me by the old folks guide on Conran street
All changed now of course
Can't recognise the place
Except that pub over there, and that one and another
Pubs always
Let me in
Just what I need.

Glorious and Divine

I see the days grow longer
The shades get less
Flowers perking up
Some back from seeming death
Snow melting
Rivers beginning to flow again
Winter is at an end
Birth of Spring
Everything is awakening anew
Life eternal
Glorious and Divine

Glorious Sky

Clouds shelter the sky
Blue and glorious beyond
Lets blow the clouds away

Meadows Green

I watch the meadows green and gold
Sprinkles of water cascading through the wood
Catching the rays of Springs early sunshine
Kids laugh and dance through the long grass
Blowing free from the mowers blade
Picnics in the park
Lovers holding hands, gazing at each other, nothing else in the world

Old Faithful

An old dog barks the warning
The master spins
Too Late

Golden and Delicious

A flower weeps its golden tears
The wind slaps it in the face
The sun kisses it with love
Golden and delicious

White Wedding Night

White petals open like a virgin on her wedding night
What bliss awaits within

Moston

Moston is my home town
Lightbourne Road is my residence
And Broadhurst fields my canvas

Joey Holts Pub

The glorious liquid bubbles out of the tap
Pulled again and again till the glass is full
Frothy head so divine and pure
Waiting for my mouth to pay it homage.

An Old Melbourne Tram

Rattling and rust bucket
Rocking from side to side
An old Melbourne Tram
Painted Green to fit in with the greenery all around
An old Melbourne tram

Jump in Bed

Time for bed
Turn off the light
Damn its cold
Jump in quick

Experience the Truth

Blow the horn squeaking
Sadness overwhelms the earth
The single man believes he is alone
He is not
You are not
You are God
You are Eternal
One will all
Stop thinking and experience the Truth

To Mammy

Daughter sat on knee
Being a pest
Pushing pen out of way as I try to write
Rubbing yellow pencil over the page
Scrawled everywhere
Sat on knee
Put her down
Paper on head
Pencil out of hand
Off she runs
Crying
To Mammy

Highpoint Movie at Night

The car is parked in the wrong spot
Not illegally parked mind you
I will not get a ticket or anything
Simply I parked it in the main supermarket car park
Entered the cinema down in the bowels of the joint
After seeing the film, I strolled to the escalator to take me up to my car
It was barricaded
Shopping centre closed
I'd have to walk around the outside of the building
In the dark
Alone
There is a massive cinema car park of course
But muggins had not gone to this
Out the entrance
Dark and cold
Pancake Parlour on the corner
Side hugging path
It soon disappeared under the centre
I knew there is a tunnel the cars come through in the day
Under here it was eerie
Like in the movies
The unseen backside of the cinema and shops
Plain concrete walls embedded with blue escape doors
Fencing and ugly concrete corners
A beauty in the silent, dark, cold night
All its own
No one is about
No cars either
I walked in silence feeling the chill as always in these situations
I walked like an alert animal
Stopping regularly
Listening for any strange noises
Peering over my shoulder and all around to see if anyone followed
Walking in the middle of the path, the little one there was,
It diverged from the road
I followed it to where it brought me next
In the wrong place
Still the back underground car park
I retraced my steps
Saw I would have to go up the car road
There was just room in the roadside gutter to walk
Finally I came out in the right place
I saw my car looking forlorn in an empty carpark
Driving home I thought it would make a great film location.

I need something

Watch the mind and the thought and push it out
No foothold gained
Straight out
No hanging around here mate
Do any good.
No idea but I need something

Postman Pat

Postman Pat
Postman Pat
Saw a rat
Fed it to his cat
Turned the fur into a mat
The rest into a hat
Left his flat
Postman Pat

Milky Tea

The tea is too milky
Too white
Bloody hell

I saw the Moon

I saw and yet nothing was there
A glimpse of flesh
Sausage and Bacon

I moved ahead and peered into
The dungeon below the casino
Eyes ablaze they were

Chained to a gaming table. Dice
Hurled and grunting like dogs
Surrounding a delectable bone

Down boy I moaned; a blood
Spattered T-shirt open to my navel
Oozing green gooey mushy pea blood

I staggered out and hit my head
It seemed the sky had crashed
Where was chicken licken

A tunnel of love boat floated past
Couples hands in mouths
Ate their lovers hearts with tripe

Roars from the crowd and I woke
To find a vampyre sucking my toe
Get off you bloody fanged pervert

Knives slit my throat and deep
Gashes appeared to dance in my flesh
The waltz of aching bodies

Too much sunshine on the earth
Salt and Vinegar on my fish and chips
Butty with the melted butter oozing out
Lovely

Stop the Brain

Stop the brain
Cage it like a genie
Rub it no longer and let it evaporate
Never to be there
No longer needed
Never needed
Only thought I did

Lights Dim

Lights dim, the red curtains pull back revealing a virgin white screen
A beam arches across the hall illuminating
People appear on the screen moving and talking like real people
I reach up to touch them but only feel the screen
They are not real
A mirage
Make believe
Fires, floods, death and life occur on the screen
Very real to those also on the screen
But I only feel the screen
The screen is the Truth and the images are our world
We imagine it to be real as we are in the film
But its not
Only the screen is real
So do not be afraid
Nothing can hurt you
Death and life are only images in the movie of the world
Detach yourself and look beyond
See the screen
See the Truth and be free

What

I saw
What did you see?
No saw
What did you saw?
A log

Good on Ya

Brilliant effervescent atom of electron
Heisengberg uncertainty principle
Now where is that bloody electron
There it is but how fast
I'm getting its speed but its gone again
We know nothing
Great
Let the thoughts go
Experience
Action with no actor
In the here-now
With no ideation
No subject/object split and all that bollocks
Simply being
No thoughts
Simply being
Good on ya

Red wine

Red wine poured steaming over my naked body
Running into all my crevices
Lick it off
Taste the nectar
Was it a good year
Here is the cream
Strawberries anyone?

Tips

Tips, tips, tips
Always someone with bloody tips
Garden
House
Clothes
Jobs
Piss Off
Keep your tips to yourself
You should do this really you know
Now this is how it should have been done
My tip
Get fucked the lot of you

Chasm of Dreams

One for the road my dear
I miss your lonely embrace
Take me to your chasm of dreams

Tip of the hat to Wordsworth

I wandered lonely as a truck
As empty of fruit as a deserted grocer shop
Tip of the hat to Wordsworth
My, the Lakes are beautiful
Spend eternity sitting on a lakes edge
Watching the scene
No thoughts
Just experiencing the sight
Losing the individual
Realising your oneness with nature
Peace and calm
Delightful

Let's go to bed

Nothing more to be said
The chill bites
Let's go to bed

Surrender

Capture an eternity of a moment
Love the whole of the earth
See nothing but Gods
In the Heavens
Above the world to the stars
Twinkling brightly
Up, above the moon so alone
We feel alone and start again
Nobody found the truth
He sees the need of time
Transcend time and space
Beyond and here
Truth is here and now
No difference between heaven and hell
We live both now
Turn around in circles
I spill over the paper ink of suggestions
Falling over destroy the name
Colour in the nodes
Spontaneous living
Do not think
Let it all go
Surrender and be.

It's cold

I shiver and down another VB stubby, frozen cold
Beer not really the best thing on a freezing night
Only teashirt on my body
Pimples popping out in sympathy with my intruding neck
Boy, I feel cold
Give us another slug
Freezing cold beer on a freezing cold night
Bleeding crazy if you ask me
But who cares
Not me as long as the beer is handy
Yes it destroys my world for a drunken while only to
Come back to earth with a bump to raise the dead
Facing friends and family
Apologising to relatives who weren't even there because you
Don't know what the hell happened, only you are in disgrace
Bottle the way to God
Praise the Lord and pass the whiskey
I am one of them and they are one of me
As is all the world
