Painting and it rains

Spent the last two days painting outside
Painting the weatherboard, windows, doors
You name it , we have painted it
I am shagged
Today is Easter Sunday.
Bunny delivered eggs galore for Sarah and a surprise basket
Filled with Barbie shoes, leotard, music box
What a surprise
I get a six pack of Guiness
Best present I have had for years
Much better than the usual socks or shirt which I cannot stand
Six gleaming bottles of Guiness is more like it
Out come the old clothes
Paint speckled from the last attempts I made.
I avoid the chore like the plague but sometimes it cannot be avoided.
Out come the rags, old brushes dried to a rock like consistency.
Two huge tins of paint
The whole of the back of the house to contemplate
Ladder blowing in the wind.
Clouds appear and rain falls
An omen.
One I am not averse too as I throw down my brushes and rush inside
Nice day after all I remark as I crack open my first Guiness.
