Maybe when I return
Perch on the highest beam falling into the light
Falling
Falling
Never reaching the end
Tripping over the banister outside my room in England
The room I grew up in
Firstly with our Mark and then on my own
Twenty odd years I spent in that room
Still consider it my own
Safe and secure in its cocoon.
A long way away now in Oz but close in my heart.
Keep my comics safe room.
I am coming back this October to see you
Warm up the sheets.
Turn on the telly
Here I come
Will I dream once more
The banister I fall over is still there holding up the stairs
Friendly to a pat
Do I ever hit bottom,
No just float in a dark atmosphere with clocks and rabbits passing by
Too much Lewis Carroll
Feel the calm
Long for it again.
Maybe when I return
