Children’s Flower Day was an annual event organized by the RETURNED SAILOR’S AND SOLDIERS IMPERIAL LEAGUE to support the men and their dependants who had served in the Great War 1914-1918. This certificate marks the 3rd Children’s Flower Day. In 1919 [the year of this certificate] some of the money was given back to schools to recognize their sacrifices during the war years. The State Schools Horticultural Society also received funds to further their work in 1919 as they had helped run the event over preceding years.
