Active Inc. was formed in 1974 as a support group for parents of hyperactive children. In the 1990's Active's role is to promote community awareness and understanding of the needs of children and adults with AD/HD and those who care for them. Active Inc. aims to provide companionship for management of attentional disorders.

What we at Active do!

Act as a community voice

Support effective management of attentional disorders

Circulate information

Provide speakers to other groups

Expand and enhance relations with the professional community

Establish and maintain links between interstate and Victorian AD/HD support groups

Assist regional AD/HD groups to set up

Meetings

Bimonthly meetings give members the opportunity to hear professionals speak on AD/HD topics and meet others in similar circumstances.

Four newsletters are produced per year to circulate news about seminars, courses, events, relevant media articles, research, what's happening in other groups and contacting regional support groups.

The newsletter is also a forum for discussion. Members are encouraged to contribute letters and articles about their experiences and views.

Library

Members have access to a resource collection of books and tapes for loan, as well as a wide selection for purchase by mail order.

Telephone Support

Informal 'telephone' support and information available.

There is strength in numbers and your membership adds to the growing number of articulate and informed consumers of government and private sector services.

Membership

Annual fee: $22 (per family per annum)
Pension Discounted: $11 (per family per annum) (Pension Card number required)
Organisation: $38.50 (per Organisation per annum)
