The author, Dr Kathleen Nadeau is director of Chesapeake Psychological Services, Bethesda, Maryland.
She is on the National Adult Issues Committee of CH.A.D.D. and a well-known lecturer and author in the field of ADD.
This book is designed to be a practical guide for daily life. It explains ADD and its diagnosis and treatment. It provides strategies, tools and tips for solving the problems associated with ADD at school, at home, at work, and in managing relationships.
Social skills and organizational skills are given particular attention.I especially like the chapter addressing the struggles unique to women with ADD. The issues of relationships, of parenting, of meeting social expectations, of managing time and finances, and of home-making were all helpful.
The book concludes with a list of useful resources including publications and organisations concerned with providing services for ADD.
