FAMILY WINS ANTI-DISCRIMINATION CASE
A woman on behalf of her son who suffers from ADHD and a school arrived at a mutually satisfactory conciliated outcome at the Queensland Anti-Discrimination Commission. The outcome included apologies for distress for the boy and his mother, the awareness of ADHD in the School Student Management Policy and Guidelines, and specific in-service training and class-room strategies for all teachers. It was agreed by all parties that these decisions should ensure improved awareness and support for ADHD students and for school staff.
