Role of a Partner
Partners agreed, at the meeting on 19 May 1998, that the role of a Partner in Australian Coalition '99 Victoria is to:
give commitment to the United Nations' Principles for Older Persons and the Vision Statement of Australian Coalition '99 Victoria and to communicate this to stakeholders in their organisation;
plan events and activities in which their organisation will be involved for the 1999 International Year of Older Persons (IYOP), placing emphasis on the UN's stated theme: "towards a society for all ages";
liaise with other Partners to identify and plan cooperative ventures for IYOP, where appropriate;
participate in Australian Coalition '99 Victoria's planning forums and workshops for IYOP;
engender enthusiasm and participation in IYOP activities, as appropriate;
advise the Secretariat of Australian Coalition '99 Victoria about organisational plans for IYOP.
