This coalition of Partners
has developed a Vision
Statement and is planning events and activities which accentuate
positive ways of approaching ageing into the next century, reflecting
the United Nations' eighteen Principles
for Older Persons.
This year Partners in Australian Coalition '99 Victoria have held two meetings to discuss and develop projects for IYOP. The next meeting will be held on 10 August 1999. The
Steering Committee meets monthly.
AUSTRALIAN COALITION '99 VICTORIA reports regularly to the national
coordinating body, Australian
Coalition '99.
Partners
in AUSTRALIAN COALITION '99 VICTORIA are organisations which represent
the interests and needs of older Victorians. Similar organisations are
invited to join AUSTRALIAN COALITION '99 VICTORIA so that their
constituents can join the thousands of older Victorians whose contributions
to the International Year of Older Persons are already being heard through
the current Partners. There is no fee to join AUSTRALIAN
COALITION '99 VICTORIA.
SPECIAL ASSISTANCE
AUSTRALIAN COALITION '99 VICTORIA is inviting people who hold a
special place in the Victorian community to assist the Partners
through their specific knowledge and skills.
SPONSORS
Ownership of the 1999 International Year of Older Persons involves the
whole Victorian community and sponsors are being sought to contribute. Through
their contributions they will emphasise their stake in successful ageing
across generations.
SECRETARIAT
The secretariat for AUSTRALIAN COALITION '99 VICTORIA is located
at the offices of Council
on the Ageing (Victoria).
