MEDIA RELEASE Wednesday 29th September

COMING SOON TO A LIFE NEAR YOU:
AGEING, THE UNTOLD STORY.

The Body Shop and Australian Coalition '99 are celebrating the fact of ageing as a part of life in 1999, the United Nations designated International Year of Older Persons.

Here's a few comments taken from the 7,300 entries in the books left in The Body Shop outlets nationwide over the past year. In my life, ageing means to me:

"Growing into my face and body and losing the horrible self-consciousness of your teens and early twenties." (female, 40)

"Ageing is a product of advertising. Forget it and just get on with it." (female, 28)

"Great sex, I know so much." (male, 64)

(Does this mean it IS possible to be sexually attractive after 50?)

John Howard (character, Bob Jelly), Jill Forster (Meredith Monahan) and Alan Cassell (Harold Fitzwalter), stars of the ABC television series Seachange will delight guests with their personal anecdotes about ageing and acting.

October 1st is designated the International Day of Older Persons. But we've got a reason to start our festivities early. A media launch involving sparkling Chandon, glorious tulips, sumptuous fare by Food & Desire productions, and Lavazza Coffee.

It appears that life is a blast at any age. Come and see why.

When: Thursday 30th September 1999 at 10.30am Where: Tesselaar's Tulip Farm, 357 Monbulk Road, Silvan (Melway ref:123 B5)
