The Health Employees Superannuation Trust Australia is Australia's largest superannuation fund for employees in the health and community services industry, with over 350 000 members and $1.6bn in assets. HESTA is a not for profit organisation that exists solely to make strong investment returns on its members' retirement savings. The fund does not pay commissions to agents or dividends to shareholders.

Plans for 1999
HESTA is running a competition called "Retire to Inspire." Entrants are required to write a short story on a retiree who is an inspiration to others. Twelve stories will be selected for inclusion in a high quality commercial publication. The book will feature a superb photographic portrait of each retiree and the author, if appropriate. Judges are Australia's best selling author, Bryce Courtenay, Bernie Fraser who features in the Super of the Future television campaign and the Chief Executive Officer of Aged Care Australia, Maureen Lyster.
