The Salvation Army is an organisation which is actively involved in the care and nurture of all people, including older people. They are active throughout nursing homes and retirement villages through their "Community Care Services" - a visitation and practical service for people in either their homes or hostels. They also have a church based community club program for over 50's. This program is designed to enhance the social, intellectual and spiritual lives of men and women over 50's. They are also currently involved in an 'in-house' conference of leaders of the club program with 68 clubs currently operating in southern Australia. The conference which will be a special initiative of IYOP will held here on March 26th, 1999 and will be followed by a public celebration for seniors on March 27, 1999 in Melbourne. Western Australia have a 5 day bus tour arranged for September 1999

IYOP focus for NSW and Queensland will be operating from their Sydney (Eastern Territory) headquarters.
